As a registered childminder with the Care Inspectorate and SCMA, my aim is to provide quality childcare with a warm, caring home from home environment where children will be happy, nurtured and healthy, learn and have fun. I have been a registered childminder since 2011 and have maintained “very good” from the Care Inspectorate on myinspections. I can engage with young children and maintain good, flexible working relationships with parents. I remain calm under stressful situations and ensure that all children within my care feel included. With being a childminder we have the freedom to venture out in our surrounding areas with no strict deadline. We can meet with other childminders and like minded children and tailor our care to the individual needs of the children. I have a varied choice of resources which are age appropriate, stimulating and fun, with activities both indoor and outdoor. I attend a childminding support group every Monday where we are kept up to date on training and any changes within the Care Inspectorate. I would like to be considered to provide funded hours as this will provided continuity of care for my families. A nursery setting is not always suitable for children that are possibly shy or struggle with large groups or an open plan nursery environment.
